It Works Again!

Posted by hardyberlin on 28th July 2006

Thanks God, my PC is working again. I got it fixed yesterday evening(better say night) when I came from our dart-competition(I won 4 of 5 games). But I know that there is still a problem with my hardware, it’s to old. CPU, Mainboard and RAM don’t fits the modern standards(still have USB 1.1 and only 286 MB DDR 333). So I guess that I will need a new one in a while. Good that Intel just put the new CPU’s on the market, they are really top class and not as expensive like the AMD’s, where you have to pay about the double price for the same power. We will see whats coming up.

Mixed Things

Posted by hardyberlin on 16th July 2006

Well, first about Dad; he is still in the clinic and got infected with hepatitis and herpes there. So it will take some more time until he can get out.

The football(soccer) world championship is over now and I must say it was great. So many people from all parts of the world where partying together at the official fan-mile, at the Kurfürstendamm and in the clubs, everybody should have seen it and feel the atmosphere.

But yesterday here was again the Love-Parade, okay, this time only about 800 000 People joined it, but it was a big party, and like always it will not stop until Monday morning. Also today there is the Gay Street-party at the Motzstreet and around the Nollendorfplatz, where everybody joins no matter about his/hers sexual preferences or orientation.

Well, and about politics I guess everybody is seeing enough in TV whats happening right now. Also everybody who knows me, knows what I’m thinking about that, that Israel has the right to defend itself. If the Hezbollah had been disarmed by the Lebanese government, like it was order by the UN, there would have been no attacks on Lebanon. But the Hezbollah was still firing there rockets from Lebanese territory to Israel. And the Hamas did the same from the Gaza strip. And if someone tries to kill my family or me, I would strike back, too. With full power and everything I have.

Update: You should also read what the Editor in chief of the Arab Times Online writes about it here , here and here .

Intensive Care and Back

Posted by hardyberlin on 6th July 2006

On Monday I was for a check-up at my eye doctor, and after that I decided to visit Dad in the clinic. But when I arrived he wasn’t in his room and the nurse told me, that they had to bring him to the intensive care unit. There he was laying, with all that cables to get him monitored permanently, Mom was sitting by his side and he could hardly speak; I guess he even didn’t recognized most of it cause his fever was still very high.

Well, thanks God, he is feeling a bit better now so they could removed him to the normal station. They also managed to bring his fever down and he can speak again but is still very weak. No wonder, if I see what amount of food he is eating, it’s nearly nothing. I have more in one meal than he is eating in a week, and we feed him. Yesterday at lunch I was there and today Mom, I will be there in the eve to give him the supper. Hopefully he will eat a bit more than he did for lunch, cause Mom told me it wasn’t much again. I will see what happens, cause my eye is getting better, too.

Family health

Posted by hardyberlin on 1st July 2006

I didn’t had any time to write something this week cause there was to much stress. First my parents came out from the hospital where they had there eye operation, so it was much to do than, and than on Thursday I went into a day-clinic to have my one done. Well, like always it gave complications with me, I definitely don’t know why, they told me it’s cause of my damaging the eye in December. And when I came back from the doc where I got my check up, an ambulance was just taking my Dad away to bring him into a clinic again. In the morning before I left for my check up, I visited my parents and Mom told me that a doctor is coming to see for him because he had high fever. Now we know that he’s got pneumonia, and he is feeling extremely bad. They where not able to bring down the fever and he can hardly speak. Last night he even felt out off his bed in the clinic and he was hardly able to push the emergency button.

For young people an pneumonia is not so dangerous(I had it twice), but for an 78 years old it’s not so easy to handle, or better lets say that’s extremely dangerous, especially if you look for his whole health status. So we only can hope that they do their best.

I hope that I can tell better news next time, any other things I’m not able to do now, even sitting in front of my PC is hurting my eyes, my left one is swollen to much.
