Poor Saddam

Posted by hardyberlin on 31st August 2006

Just read something nice to laugh about at e-pluribus-unum:

Toppled dictator Saddam Hussein is being tormented in jail by being forced to watch HIMSELF in South Park .

Well, if you  don’t know this episode, lets tell you, that Saddam is shown there as a gay who has sex with the Devil. The link will bring you to the original article written by Sara Natham in the Online Sun.

Using Hitler for Publicity???

Posted by hardyberlin on 29th August 2006

India: Puneet Sabhlok, was looking for a nice name for his restaurant. And now guess what he did - he named it "Hitler’s Cross" and used the swastika as the logo for it!

I don’t know what had come into his mind, the only thing I could think of is that it was just a extremely tasteless publicity stunt. And it worked out.

After a lot of protests he is now renaming it, but after there were so many articles in India’s media, everybody knows this place now. It’s sad! And this dude is definitely sick!

Attention: Beer!

Posted by hardyberlin on 27th August 2006

Not a to long time ago I told you about that crazy EU-Politicians. Yesterday I found a new „nice“ idea of them. Do you remember how it started in Europe with the anti-smoking laws? First there were discussions, than the ban for promotion, a while later we had the „warnings“ on each pack of cigarettes(everybody who started smoking during the last 45 years was knowing that it’s dangerous), and now in many countries it’s not allowed to smoke in bars and restaurants(they try to do it here, too).

But now they try to start the same stuff with beer and wine.

Markos Kyprianou, EU-Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, brought out a concept against alcohol. They want to put warning labels alcoholic beverages, like: „drinking can be dangerous“, or „drinking alcohol can make you addicted to it, so don’t start“, all that bullshit we know from cigarettes.

Thanks God, in Bavaria they started protesting against it. Juliane Klöckner(CDU) was saying that we than would have to put labels on airplanes, too. Like: „Warning, it can crash“ or maybe on cars one like this: „it’s dangerous to drive, you can get into an accident“.

Well, I think so too. We are drinking beer and wine since over 2000 years and don’t need European infantilizing. Maybe we should send politicians to a psychiatric examination before they can get any position, but even than we can’t be sure and have to be very careful.

In discussions I always asked what will be next if we are not careful. That these idiots might take our rights away more and more, and maybe ban coffee, tee and alcohol. I reminded everybody about Orwell. And they all were saying that something like that will never happen, what can’t be will not be.

Well, quot era demonstrandum.

Eating Alone

Posted by hardyberlin on 24th August 2006

Now it looks like it’s really going up. On Tuesday they started to re-mobilize Dad, and yesterday was the first time he could eat without any help(better lets say that he only needed a bit of help). He even was sitting at the table instead of sitting in the bed. Now we wait to see that he is able to get up and walk alone, but we know that it’ll take a while. But we are happy for every little step he makes to get healthy again.

So this time it will be a really relaxing dart evening tonight. Oh, did I told you that I was champion last week? Well, we’ll see what happen today.

Feeling Better!

Posted by hardyberlin on 17th August 2006

I’ll send my prayers to God, my Dad is feeling better now. The doctors finally found out what really was the matter with him. He didn’t only had a normal pneumonia, he had a "Candida Pneumonia" which caused a life threatening "Candida Sepsis". During the normal tests they didn’t found anything, but when they made an antigen test they finally found it. And they also found the right combination of medication, three extremely strong antibiotics, so that the therapy is working now. Yesterday was the first time that he was eating everything and also wanted to talk for a while, and this morning he started again to flirt with the nurses. And that change within a few days, fantastic. So I’ll guess, that I will have more time from Friday eve on, so that I can start chatting again and also write more articles.

We also want to thank everyone for their prayers and wishes.

What can I do?

Posted by hardyberlin on 9th August 2006

Tuesday eve wasn’t good. Dad eat nearly nothing and had fever again. When I came today at lunchtime, I was talking with the doc and he told me that they had to change his medication again, now they give him Vancomycin and Rocephin. They also had to put him back on oxygen and needed to give him an injection of a strong tranquilizer. Caused by that, he wasn’t able to eat his lunch and hardly recognized me. So you might understand, that I’m not able to write about more things, even if I would have the time to do so. Maybe tomorrow I’ve more time and are a bit more relaxed.

Update: When Mom went to him this eve he was still totally disorientated, he didn’t know what time it was and also he didn`t remember that I was there twice today. I really don’t know how we can help him right now. And it also seems to me, that he thinks that he will not leave the hospital alive.

Private & EU

Posted by hardyberlin on 8th August 2006

First let’s start with some private thinks: they had to change the antibiotics for Dad because he was resistant to them(which is probably caused by the MRSA he had a few years ago) and also he’s got depressions sometimes, no wonder after a so long time laying there. At least yesterday eve he was feeling a bit better and is of the oxygen. But he wants that I take care of certain document’s which is not a good sign. But, as I’ve heard, he was making jokes with one nurses this morning(must have been a very pretty one). I hope that he feels better this eve.

Hello Hedi, I received your wedding anniversary picture and printed it for Mom. She was really surprised, to see how your grand-kids have grown.

Well, and now something "new" about Germany and that crazy EU-Politicians. First the want to but a smoking ban on official buildings(which is, at least in my eyes, okay), and now they also want that again for restaurants and bars. Well, I know that we had a few restaurants and one bar here in Berlin, but except of one restaurant they all went bankruptcy. I only can ask you why did it happen? They had enough promotion. But the customers didn’t came- and I don’t mean only the smoking customers, even the non-smokers didn’t come to join the clean smokeless air! Why? Can you give me an answer? If you have the answer, than please give a comment or mail me.

And now we even have another funny thing with the European Union. They brought out an so called "Anti-Discrimination Law". Wonderful, no more discrimination because of color, health, ethnic background or religion- but discrimination of smokers is okay, that is not discrimination- at least they say so. Isn’t it nice? I don’t thing, that the highest German court would agree with them.

Worse Again

Posted by hardyberlin on 2nd August 2006

Well, Dads status of health had gone worse, again he has problems with his lungs and fever also. They had to put him on oxygen again and he can hardly speak. They also found out, that he has water in his lungs; I don´t know how they will remove it. Mom is totally down with her nerves. Tomorrow or Friday we will get the correct diagnose whats the matter now, it has something to do with his MRSA, too. We only can hope that the doc´s know what they are doing.

The “Stoeckchen”

Posted by hardyberlin on 1st August 2006

Ups, just found the stick Oliver has send to me, sorry that I answer so late. To them which are not familiar with that: it’s like a chain letter, a blog socializing tool, which is quite popular in the German blogsphere. If you have a dog, you probate know the game with the stick, you throw it and the dog has to retrieve it. Well, here you receive stick( "Stoeckchen") with some questions attached to it, you answer them and pass it on to four other blogger.

Why do you blog?

Well, good question. Maybe its because I’m to lazy to write letters(also my handwriting looks horrible). Sounds crazy, but in my blog I can tell my relatives and friends what’s going on(without taking care about the time difference, which is from 7+ to 9-), and later, if they have some more questions or want to give some comments, they can reach me via one of the messengers. Everyone of them can take a look on my blog, but only friendster members can give a direct comment. Also I like political discussions and in the web I’ll find many others which do so, too.

Since when do you blog?

Since November 2005.

Self-characterization?

Sarcastic and skeptical, interested in nearly everything, sometimes to emotional, like to have fun with my friends, like black humor, even if it’s extremly black, mostly liberal(the German way, not like the American liberals), but it also gives a few things where I have to agree with the German Green Party and also the CDU. I know that it sounds a bit mixed up but that’s the way it is.

Why do your readers read your blog?

Friends and family members cause they wanna know whats going on and what I think about it. Why others do it I don’t know. Maybe they like me, or they wanna see what kind of idiot is writing there.

What was the last query to let someone find your blog?

I don’t know, many find it via friendster or Hi5.com.

Which of your entries got wrongly too little attention?

None.

Your favorite blog at the moment?

Well, I have a few: S&W, antibuerokratieteam, B.L.O.G.

Which was the last blog you’ve read?

e-pluribus-unum

How many feeds have you subscribed to at the moment?

None, I’ll read blogs without using RSS.

To which four blogs you will forward the stick, and why?

Lizas Welt, Alexander, S&W, e-pluribus-unum. Because they are really interesting.
