Criticism Not Allowed?

Is the Islamic world to stupid to understand a speech or are they all only to lazy to read? Well, maybe some can’t read, and they belief everything what they’ve been told by their mullahs.
What has happened? At the University of Regensburg the Pope was holding a lecture about the contradictions between religions and the use of force. For that he cited a document from 1391 about a discussion which was held between the Byzantine emporer Manuel II Palaeologos and a Persian Theologe about Christianity and Islam and both truth led.
He said : „In the sieved round of talks published by professor Khoury the emperor comes on the topic of the Jihad to speak. The emperor knew reliably that in Sure 2, 256 stands: No obligation in faith things - it is one the early Sure’s from the time, in which Mohammed was still powerless and threatened. But the emperor knew naturally also - developed later - the regulations laid down in the Koran over the holy war. Without in-permitting itself on details like the different treatment of "owners of writing" and "disbelieving ones", it contacts in amazingly gruff form completely simply with the central question about the relationship of religion and force at all its interlocutor. He says: "show me nevertheless, what brought Mohammed new and there you will find only bad and inhumanity, like this, that he prescribed, the faith, which he preached, by the sword to spread". The emperor justifies then in detail, why faith spreading is paradoxical by force. It contradicts for the nature of God and the nature of the soul. "God does not have a favour at the blood, and not reasonably to act, is the nature of God contrary. The faith is fruit of the soul, not the body. Who wants to thus lead someone to the faith, the ability of the good speech and right thinking needed, not however force and threat…In order to convince a reasonable soul, one does not need its arm, not percussive tools still otherwise one of the means, by which one can threaten someone with death“.
With this words the pope wanted to make clear, that no one, no matter about his religion, not the Christianity nor the Islam, is allowed to use force, and he condemned the spreading of faith by force from the church during the crusade, like he also condemned it by the Islamic Jihadists now.
And what has happened now? The Muslims all over the world are feeling offended, they say, that the pope has insulted Islam and the prophet Mohammed. Can’t they read, or are they really idiots? Or do they want to take every critics as an insult? If they can’t take religious critic, than they aren’t really ready for a modern world, where everybody and everything gets criticized and put into question. And than it also can’t give a dialog of the cultures. That they should know!
