Videos forbidden?

Posted by hardyberlin on 5th January 2008

China Moves to Control Online Video : It seems that China is afraid, that their citizens could show the world whats going on there. Or how would you understand a law that forbids you to post videos in the Internet? Here is what it says:

"Companies or individuals who do not have an operating license issued by the relevant department, or who have not submitted an application for such a license, must cease to offer online video services," said the regulations, which come into effect Jan. 31.

This move will make it quite difficult for Chinese citizens to post videos to their blogs or Web sites, or to Chinese video-sharing sites similar to YouTube, including citizen journalism of the kind which has proliferated amid growing civil unrest across the country.

But: The Democratic Voice of Burma will be airing television broadcasts every day from 4 January 2008. The daily broadcasts will begin at 7pm Burmese time and will be repeated for 24 hours.

DVB’s television broadcasts can be found at: Telestar 10/Apstar 2R C 76.5°E MHz 3840 Symbol rate 27500 Video PID 2008 Audio PID 3008 PCR PID 2008

Peter Schlegel(Thailand)said, that they will try to broadcast the "Democratic Voice of Burma" via www.ShareTV.us , their new Internet-TV- Project.
