Air-Pollution and Smoking
Posted by hardyberlin on 5th August 2008
The air-pollution in Beijing is not a "big health risk" for the athletes, so a government speaker told us. Not a big one? So there is one, at least I understand this statement that way.
Like smoking and non-smoking? Or maybe passive smoking in a pub or bar? Who knows or will tell us the truth. At least one journalist from N24(non-smoker) said it’s hard outside the buildings, he feels it even after a short walk on his lungs and heart.
The poor athletes, visitors and journalists there. Nobody was nannying enough to stop them, preserved them from going there, no one protected them and their health. Like the government would do it here.
Here some people think, that non-smokers have to be protected from going into pubs where smoking is allowed. That they don’t have their own mind where to go to. Most of the restaurants and pubs are non-smoking places, only in about 30% smoking is allowed.
You think that I can’t compare the air-pollution at the Olympics with the smoke in smokers pubs? Maybe you’re right. But you better think twice.
